Don't miss Hampden's First Friday festivities this weekend. Here's the rundown of where you should stop by to take advantage of deals and discounts, as well as enjoy new art openings and perhaps some refreshments.
Atomic Books (3620 Falls Rd.) will hold a retrospective of 20 years the store's fliers, t-shirts, and art from 7-10 p.m. Down the street, doubledutch boutique (3616 Falls Rd.) will be discounting the entire store by 10 percent all day long and plans to serve snacks and cocktails from 6-9 p.m. Studio C Jewelry (1017 W. 36th St.) will give away a free pair of earrings with any purchase from 5-7 p.m. Sugar (927 W. 36th St.) will celebrate their 5th anniversary with a birthday cake and champagne from 6-9 p.m. Men's clothing store Sixteen Tons (1100 W. 36th St.) promises "music, drinking, and mayhem" at the opening night of their new art show, The Photography of William Monaghan, from 6-9 p.m. Soft and Cozy Baby (915 W. 36th St.) will discount all purchases 10 percent from 5-7 p.m. Charlotte Elliott (873 W. 36th St.) will join in with a chocolate tasting that starts at 5 p.m.Thanks to the Hampden Village Merchants Association for all the tips!
Note: A previous version of this post stated that Lovelyarns (3610 Falls Rd.) will be celebrating their grand reopening at First Friday, but the event will actually happen on Sunday, April 22 from noon to 4 p.m.
