Baltimore-based brewery Heavy Seas opened the doors to its first ever restaurant on Tuesday night. The new tavern, called Heavy Seas Alehouse, is located in Little Italy on Bank Street near the intersection of Central Avenue in the former Old Holland Tack Factory, which was most recently the home of Diablita, a bar and restaurant that closed in 2010.
Currently, the restaurant is open for dinner only but plans to start lunch service soon. The menu includes many dishes made using Heavy Seas beer, such as beef short ribs glazed with the brewery's Peg Leg imperial stout, onion rings made from Loose Cannon-infused batter, and mussels with Gold Ale broth. There is also a raw bar and an outdoor beer garden. Heavy Seas beer will be offered in bottle, on draft, on cask, and in growlers to take home.
Check back for a full review of the restaurant in the coming weeks.
