Maryland Announces Ice Cream Trail

Pitango Gelato

Earlier this month, the Maryland's Department of Agriculture announced the state will now have its very own trail dedicated to frozen, sugary confections. The new Maryland Ice Cream Trail connects seven creameries that create frozen delights on site, and the state is promoting the creameries with an ice cream passport that can be stamped at each location. Those who collect all the stamps by Labor Day can submit the passport and be entered in to a drawing to win a tasty treat -- more ice cream.

The closest stop on the ice cream trail from Baltimore is Prigel Family Creamery in Glen Arm, Baltimore County. But you don't have to travel far to get some amazing frozen treats: For some close-to-home favorites, check out About Baltimore's list of Baltimore's best ice cream parlors.
