The annual Baltimore Pride Celebration, a program of the Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Baltimore, will take place this weekend from Friday through Sunday. The origins of the festival go back to 1975, and today the festival is one of the largest events in the city. Don't miss the traditional High Heel Race on Saturday that precedes a pride parade and block party expected to take over the streets of Mount Vernon. On Sunday, the Pride Festival takes place in Druid Hill Park with performers, vendors, and a family area. Other events throughout the weekend include a crowning of the King and Queen of Pride and "Twilight on the Terrace," a benefit cocktail party held at Gertrude's, the restaurant inside The Baltimore Museum of Art.
